And out it goes. This huge load of Bird Pellets, Insectivore, Divetelac, Cat food and Vitamins and supporting product is now off to Sydney Wildlife (Sydney Metropolitan Wildlife Services) . All over Australia the same scene is being repeated as loads are now being picked up in Brisbane, Hunter, Canberra, Victoria, Geelong, Adelaide and Perth.

This is all thanks to The Mini Kitty Commune #MarsBirdcare Petbarn #Petbarnfoundation and WIRES who have supplied ARC with an insane amount of bird supplies ready for the coming fires.

A huge thank you to our close friends in rescue The Rescue Collective Orphan lamb rescue farm @Angelsrescue, Donna Michelle, Dee, Trish and many of the rescuers around Australia who are letting ARC use their sites to outbound supplies. This is how it gets done, people working together.

Birds are the first indicator that its going wrong. Birds and Bats are very susceptible to heat and literally thousands were dropped to vets and rescuers last weekend when the temperature hit 40 degrees.

If you are a rescuer and you need Insectivore or Small/Large pellets (they also get eaten by other animals) then log a request here www.arcsupport.org.au/wildlife

This load of supplies is enough for the Sydney Wildlife team for a few months and will be shared across the rescuers in the team who are taking on all over Sydney.

Thank you to the sponsors and supporters that help our work and to the volunteers all over Australia manning the sheds and driving the cars to get things to animals in need.

Vicky is now ready for Adoption!!

Vicky’s Story is such a sad one ...

Vicky and her 3 dear tiny kittens were brought to our vets by a concerned member of the public.
She was in terrible state and her kittens even worse. They’d been locked in a laundry and sadly had eaten (probably because of extreme hunger) either laundry detergent or bleach. Their little mouths were full of ulcers and as a result Vicky needed over a month of care at the vet to get better. Sadly, none of her kittens survived.

Despite having gone through so much in her short life she has such a sweet, beautiful nature.

Vicky is initially a little shy (like most cats) but once she learns you’re a friend she totally relaxes and loves attention. She adores her belly being rubbed, and will happily sleep on the bed with you!

Vicky would love a forever home where she never needs to worry about anything ever again. She’d do well in a quieter home but has been in foster care with older children so would do well with a family too. With proper, slow introductions and being so young she will adapt to other cats too.

Vicky
Age: 1 year
M/C: 991003000820280
Location: Wahroonga, Sydney
Vet work: Desexed, microchipped & vaccinated

God bless you Vicky!! so sad you lost your babies, but l just hope now you find the right person that offers you a loving home and heaps of love!!❤ Good luck sweetheart!!❤🐾🙏

How horrible! Those "elements" that cannot be defined as human beings deserve the same fate! Poor little darlings!💔💔💔

I cannot stand humans who hurt animals, and cats in particular are close to my heart, this absolutely make me ill to hear stories of cruelty; IF I could I would adopt them all... all the best 'Vicky' for a good, safe and loving home... 😽

That owner should be shot, how cruel no food and trapped in a Laundry Cruel Cruel horrible people.

Poor sweet darlings; what a loss. I hope dear Vicky has a wonderful forever home in her near future!

So sweet, looks like she's got white boots on her front feet😽

Ah yes, I’m fostering two kittens at the moment and came home to poop EVERYWHERE 😂 We wouldn’t have it any other way though would we 💖

When mine were younger they used to use the skirt as a litter box very annoying

Why always the carpet - cheeky things 🙄

Christine Kennedy all the presents we get from the cats 😂😂

Is the cat alright.

My cats are good little kitties, they don't touch or play around the Christmas Tree.

My kitty's favourite Christmas trick was to eat the tinsel and leave sparkly fur balls in the hallways for us to step on in the morning - with bare feet, of course!

My boy only throws up on the tiles in the bathroom, then shows me... his manners are impeccable ❤

It’s always on the carpet or rug isn’t it 🤣🤮

That might be only the start LOL......the decorations on a xmas tree gets a bit too much for cats some times...

Kristen Jane

Jennifer Stockins

Oh oh.

Too funny, my male kitty is peeing and pooping all the mats in the house and my xmas tree skirt 🤦🏻‍♀️

Rufus is a snowshoe ragdoll who is at the MKC.

When he arrived here he was non-responsive and catatonic.

He did all the time and would not respond to any contact.

We have had him in our vet and been running some tests on him and he has a number of medical issues which has not been actioned by previous owners and he has clearly not been looked after very well.

That is until now in the last week and a half he has had a lot of a very good work from our vets and our team and as you can see he is completely fine with human contact now.

Unlike before

Rufus has a long way to go and will either go into a long-term foster carer of the MKC Or will stay at one of our shelters until he is clear.

Thank you everyone for your support of our work and for helping cats like Rufus

Hi MKC! Can you please respond to my DM? I have some stuff to donate and was hoping to drop off to the gladesville location.

Why are people negligent like that. He is in the best place now.

I thought he had his mouth open, but no, just a dark chin

He’s a beautiful boy

The socialising of one of our spiciest mums, Juno Stormbringer.
Beautiful Juno came into our care with her equally gorgeous babies and boy what a great mum she was.
Into the care of Jodie where she was happy to keep Jodie on her toes with super sass and a side serve of extra spicy, she was not a fan of humans.
Jodie & Juno had a mutual respect for each other. If Jodie did everything right Juno wouldn’t attack her, to Juno that was more than fair.
After being the best mum her kittens were desexed and found lovely wonderful homes and Juno was lucky to fall into the care of Mary & Deb where her socialising continued.
Mary has the patience of a saint and everything milestone has been at Junos pace. For those that know socialising there is no pushing the boundaries otherwise you get a wonderful scar as a reminder and potentially an evening in hospital.
Nearing the end of her time with Mary & Deb Juno is coming along so well.
While she’s not quite ready for adoption she will in the very best future be looking for someone that is willing to give her happily ever after, understand that everything is at her pace and you will be very rewarded.
Of all our glorious adopters that have taken the leap of faith with cats like Juno have never looked back, they appreciate all the tiny and large milestones.
Are you looking for a 100% rescue, to make a difference in a cats life that will be overlooked because when you meet for the first, second, third and possibly the fourth time you only get a glimpse of the screaming past to hide but in clips like these you can see what the cat is like when they are comfortable with their surroundings.
Juno Stormbringer is just mesmerising in this clip 😊

Some people don't get why we are so easygoing with our boy Darcy but he is a rescue and it's all good as far as we are concerned. Just seeing him happy is all we want

Sammi Blackett

Do you have any tips on how to help socialise an adult. I had a mumma and her 3 babies come in for me to foster but all 3 angels have since succumb to calicivirus. Mumma is considered a TNR but the conditions where she came from are terrible and I want to try to help her so there is a chance that she can have the life she deserves. Any tips would be appreciated 🙏🏻

My beautiful Pepper from MKC began with hiding under the bed and now is queen of the bed snuggling in next to me. Little steps at her pace. Love her to bits. Thanks MKC

Looks exactly like my cats same colour

Mesmerising just watching her. What a beautiful girl.

Ragdoll rehome - this beautiful boy is Goose, her is a 4.5 year old boy living in Lane Cove with his family.

Goose is a 4.5 year old male ragdoll cat (desexed and vaccinated).

He has a typical ragdoll personality (docile but playful) and would probably do well as the only cat or with another docile cat.

Says his owner He likes his belly rubbed first thing in the morning and loves to play fetch with shiny toys. He is a curious cat and loves going on road trips or to parks. He is pretty independent and can be left alone for significant periods of time but as with most ragdolls, he would need some play time and attention everyday from his new family. ideally i’d like for him to go to a family who have experience with cats and are willing to take on a long term commitment and give him the love and attention that he needs.

He needs to find a new home as his family is moving overseas and they have asked MKC for help finding a home.

If you would like to meet Goose please send in an adoption enquiry by clicking here www.mkc.org.au/adoptionenquiry

😻 TWINKLE & STARR’S Journey 😻

We’d like to introduce you to Twinkle & her brother Starr. Two beautiful kittens who have been in care with us for almost 2 months.

They arrived late one Saturday afternoon extremely malnourished, weighing a measly 400 grams and had the worst eyes we have ever seen. And we’ve seen a lot of bad eyes!

Our wonderful vets opened up just for these kittens. We had tough discussions as to whether or not we should try and save these babies or if it was kinder to let them go. The vet & their carer could see they had the fight in them so the MKC board agreed to give it everything we had, to fight for these little babies. And that is where their story and epic battle began ...

Diagnosed with Calicivirus, Cat flu, herpes and ringworm They needed around the clock care with syringe feeding and almost constant eye creams, drops and lubricants to try and save their eyes. We were aiming to keep their eyes but knew in our hearts they would almost certainly be blind.

Each baby gradually grew stronger, having both good days but also some bad. REALLY bad! Each baby sadly lost one eye each when herpes and infection caused their eyes to erupt.

2 months on, both Starr and Twinkle have almost made a full recovery and although we couldn’t save all their eyes we do have a chance to save the other eyes. And they will no longer be blind !!

BUT, it will take specialist surgeons to remove the scarring and like all things this costs money.

How can you help restore their sight?

We urgently need donations, no matter how big or small, it all adds up and will make a huge difference to these two courageous fighters.

If you’re able to help please donate via the link below, you can make either a one off donation or sign up to become a monthly sponsor!

https://mkc.org.au/sponsor

Starr & Twinkle thank you, from the bottom of their hearts and hope to update you soon with their new, functioning eyes!

Hope kittens are fully recovery soon. Monthly donation has just submitted. Pray for all babies 🥰

Oh the poor kitties 😕 you've done amazing job and we've just made a donation x

Looking at these photos it is crazy that you managed to save any of their eyes. Great job MKC!!! <3

Just donated for these poor babies!

They all deserve the very best chance at life. They are resilient little critters who recover from losing an eye, blind ones seem to side up to a mate if they can and before you know it they are following them about and playing <3

Oh these babies. Thankyou so much for believing in them and giving them a chance 💗 Wishing for a speedy recovery

These two special 😻😻are adorable & deserve the opportunity to be their best selves.

Such beautiful brave little ones. Thank you for all your love and care. 🥰

Where are they located. ❤️

Poor little babies 😼😼❤️ hope they find a loving home.

Poor little ones. But very beautiful. Sending healing prayers x

Just donated. Keep us updated with their journey ❤️

Thank goodness the kitten's eyes will hopefully repair. When stitches are removed will be a good day

Poor babes! May the rest of their days be much brighter ☀️ 😽

How Do we donate

Speedy recovery beautiful babies.😻😻

Oh that so sad.Prayers for these little ones.💚💚🙏🙏

Poor little things ❤ they are so adorable!

Twinkle and Star are absolutely adorable ❣

I can’t believe how good they look now! Great job guys

It would be amazing to have an eye each, after all that .💖

How special they are. They deserve a chance to have a life with sight!

So glad to see that they are on their way to recovery!!!’

Oh my goodness. Poor babies!

Griffith locals -

The Griffith team needs your support. If you are from the area and love the amazing work the team is doing and want to see it continue please become a monthly sponsor.Gorgeous Mike has just come into care and we absolutely love him to pieces! We need small monthly sponsors to continue to help cats.

Please use the link become a monthly sponsor to help him and many other cats needing emergency vet treatment.

Sadly, Mike’s eye is beyond being saved and will need to be removed. He will be more comfortable and adapt brilliantly with one eye. Lucky for him his days of suffering are now over but many more need help.

We are currently getting smashed with a surge of kittens, pregnant mums, mums with kittens and injured cats like Mike. We desperately need local support..

Our vet bills are high, averaging $15 000 a month and constantly rising. We have 12 local monthly sponsors. Only 12. It’s not enough to continue this work. Vet treatment is expensive and we just can’t continue saving cats in need without you.

Your money will 100% go towards saving Griffith cats - their food, supplies and vet expenses. There is no profit for any volunteer.

By becoming an $18 a month/ $4.50 a week sponsor you will join the team and help save the large number of stray cats in Griffith.

They need you.

I have just become a monthly donor. It really is a small amount in a grand scheme of things (of course this may not be the case for everyone) and will go towards such important work. Thank you for all the work you do - every furry baby deserves kindness and care ❤️

Just arrived at MKC. This little guy was found in a roof cavity in a house and taken to the local vet.

The vet has done a basic check up and brought him to MKC for fostering.

He loves it welcome to your new life bonkers (yes we named him after that song)

She was living in her car with her cat . . how you can help (read on)

If youve been following this case, ARC and MKC has been helping a lady who escaped domestic violence in Adelaide and was living in her car with her cat. There is a link at the base to catch up but long story short, she needed help and the teams worked around the clock not just to get her food but get her into a safe house.

You delivered her and her cat food
You got her into a safe house.
You gave her the first decent nights sleep in weeks

And then, with the help of social services an emergency place came up for her to move into. She is one of the nicest people we know, and we deal with many. Her case manager, everyone backed her.

So. Sit down.

The day came to move from the safe house, and get her meagre possessiong out of storage to a final home. Remember , this is in Adelaide.

That day was last Wednesday. What happened last Wednesday?

Lock down.

We took a frantic call . . she was just . . beside herself. The movers had cancelled, storage had cancelled. No one could move.

Imagine being so close to being safe. Finally being able to rest . . and then it all gets pulled away.

So this is when you realise the strength of the teamwork across the country and also the flexibility of the people in government to help.

I called Alli, I had zero idea what to do. . . but she knew. Working with the right officials in government we got the details of an exemption that would allow her safe passage to move in that 24 hour period, with limits. This was Dr Alli Cairns and her deep involvement with the Corona process at work. Not favours, but solid knowledge.

But we still needed a truck driver who would take the job. Everyone had downed tools. Remember, this is Wednesday night at 8pm.

Rebecca Alexander who runs the SA team is also very much across national freight and logistics. She made a couple of calls.

Within 5 minutes we had a call from Craig at Craig Arthur Transport. He was very, very direct.

Im going over there now to get this done

Wha?

Im 7 minutes away, shes not going to be left like that, thats not happening

(Ive shortened the lyrics but lets just say this is a man with 150 staff and many many vehicles, he could have been doing anything that night but instead he got his truck over and got this started, he made our friend feel safe and secure)

If you get any problems, youve got my number

We are very, very grateful and proud of all the team involved that made this happen. The lady and her cat have very little furniture and no basics, but she has safety and security thanks to you.

I have personally had many calls with this wonderful lady, she is beside herself with sadness and happiness that anyone would help her, she never thought help would come. It did, from animal rescuers and the community.

So what do we need? We need your help getting her set up. How can you help? Donate a gift card.

https://www.prezzee.com.au/store/prezzee-gift-card/

If you want to help this mission impossible, we are are taking donations of gift cards that we can give to her (Name supressed) so she can get household items. Nyree has made a wish list but we realise to do that we need to give an address and we arent ready to do that. So gift cards do the job.

Make sure if is an E-Gift and email to Nyree Kullen at nairi@mkc.org.au and we will collate these and get them to her . . we will keep this up to date.

What are we buying with these? Basics.

 - Toaster
 - Kettle
 - Cutlery
 - Bedding
 - Fan
  - Broom
 - Electicals
 - Table
 - Chairs
 - Livable.

You get the drift. Also if you have better ways of doing this or you are personally in Adelaide and willing to help us hub locally to her please message the page and Nyree and I will talk directly.

If you are in Adelaide and want to help us, message.

We want to thank Craig Arthur from Craig Arthur Transport Rebecca Alexander, Alli Cairns, The SA case workers, National Storage and the Prime Minister and Cabinet for getting this done. This was a team effort with a very very important out come.

(Previous story here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/mkcfreecycle/permalink/688126382125981)

This is so wonderful it made me cry thank you to everyone who has helped this poor lady. I hope her life continues to get better day by day. I wish we were in Adelaide as we have a heap of furniture we could donate. I will organise a gift card for her and her cat. ❤❤❤

Wonderful people helping her & God bless her for thinking of her kitty & bringing it with her.

Fantastic job everyone!! Thank you so much to Mini Kitty Commune and all involved in helping this woman and her cat!! Awesome!!❤🙏❤🙏

great story. re things she needs.. we have done similar call outs lots of times in sydney via our pay it forward group.. a call goes out - people offer items - someone who knows the lady runs around and does the pickups.. then the gift cards could go onto ongoing needs not setup

Amazing work to you all who helped this lovely lady and her cat. I work at Dress for Success Sydney and happy to work with the Adelaide office and secure her clothing if this is needed.

What amazing work from the MKC/ ARC team yet again. Wish you could take over from government! Things would run a hell of a lot better 🙂

Oh wow, there are some beautiful people around .

Please give us updates on how things get on.

Wow you guys are heavens angels 💜

Can i have bank details so i can transfer to help pls

Shared all over. There's nothing more stronger than community help... through network action. This woman and her cat aren't alone anymore because people see, hear her story... people wanna help where and how they can...

👏👏👏

Amazing!

I am so overwhelmed with such incredible efforts kindness and support Thank you ARC and MKC Deepest gratitude to all involved behind the scene Nyree you are simply awesome Sharing this beautiful post x💞

Just wonderful 💗

I've just emailed through a $50 Kmart e-gift card for this lady. Hopefully it will help her get some of the basics.

So glad they're in a safe place. The gift card attached to the link is able to be used at different stores in SA?? Is that correct ? Is there somewhere I can send her some personal goodies through MKC I realise there are privacy issues at play but would love to get her a few nice things as well sent through you - I will sort out gift card .

PS the cat picture has been changed to protect the identity of the victim.

Emilie Heilpern if any of your network have extra bits and pieces that could help out? It is a wholesome story about your new(ish) city helping people in need too

It makes my heart sing to read this. Thank you everyone, please keep them safe. This is only the start sadly. Her abuser will come looking

Amazing work everyone! ❤️ Facebook marketplace will be good source for home furnishings - sometimes even free items! If you/ she gets in contact with a local charity or even Share the Dignity directly they might be able to get her personal essentials through It’s in the Bag initiative. Good luck to her xx

Sensational work by all. You should be very proud of yourselves.

The cat is so adorable and lucky too. Both are lucky to have eachother ♥️

Awesome job everyone ♥️

Incredible people 👌🏼🙏🏼💕

A quick update on our Snowshoe boy. This is Rufus. Rufus is needing a foster carer that can take him in and look after him whilst we put him through healthcare, support and tests as he has some nasal issues.

If you can foster him, please hit the adoption form here - https://mkc.org.au/adoptionenquiry and say its for Rufus

Honestly, this is no big deal, we just need someone that is near us in Gladesville that is able to stay in contact, provide attention and we do the rest, pay the bills and make him well.

Personally, I just put this post up to show the photos. of Rufus :) If you can help please PM the page!

There is nothing like a Dame! Nothing in the world. . . (sing). Bonus points for anyone who can spot the picture behind Dame, the beautiful old lady at MKC Gladesville.

If you would like to meet Dame please let us know and make an enquiry.

https://mkc.org.au/adoptionenquiry

This beautiful old girl is wonderful to be around, quiet loving and enjoys peace. The vets think she is a about 11 years old and we only wish we knew all those years.

She has one tooth which doesn’t stop us from eating anything that moves, we could have called her snaggletooth!

She has had all her vet work, tests and bloods checked and is a picture of good health. We love Dame and we think she would be ideal for any family that wants a quiet and placid lounge cat.

Kittens! Jet black, super friendly and VERY talkative, in a previous post I called him Goofy but that doesnt really cut it. Goofy and Tabby (the kittens with no name still) are here at Gladesville and looking for a new home!

Weve been so happy to have them here. Both Goofy and Tabby are about 15 weeks old (thats about 4-5 months in cat years) and have settled in perfectly. They LOVE other cats and are totally happy together as a bonded pair.

If you would like to meet them please visit https://mkc.org.au/adoptionenquiry

Goofy and Tabby are at Gladesville and ready to meet a new family straight away. They would be ideal in a home with or without children and are a good combination of attentive and relaxed.

These two stunning kittens are Millie and Lanya, super playful, friendly and very good to be around. Both are 12 weeks old and part of a litter that were raised at MKC on the best food and care.

If you would like to enquire about adoption please click here - https://mkc.org.au/adoptionenquiry

These two girls are great with other cats and kittens, they are energetic but not frantic and are just as at home on your lap as chasing each other around.

They are located in Gladesville and come flea, tick worm treated, desexed, vaccinated and well looked after.

These two goofy and friendly kittens arrived yesterday. They have been microchips and had all that work done I’m just waiting to get some details as the paperwork is on the way.

For the moment I’m calling them goofy and Tiger until the paperwork arrives later today.

They are wonderful and the black boy is just all over us and being followed all Fay by his little tiger friend.

People really need to do the right thing and desex their cats. This is so sad. Great support though.
