In the heart of Sydney, a local cat breeder has chosen to turn over a new leaf and cease his operations, with the help of an amazing local rescuer who helped him when he truly needed it. But every story has a villian. And every profit-driven capitalist and backyard breeder in Australia will be vying for these cats to continue profiting from their plight.
Enter MKC. The Mini Kitty Commune.
Cat rescue with a plan.
The path to redemption and enlightment involves inbounding 16 Purebred British Shorthairs to MKC. This is a massive job and we are taking them all in to make sure they are safe and never breed again. This will allow us to halt the breeding, desex the cats, safeguard their future, and protect the world.
Our mission is to rescue and rehome these cats.
The Breeder has kept these cats in amazing condition. This is no backyard rescue, this is top shelf someone who cared for these cats and wants to pass that baton on to others that will.
We will honour his trust and show that there is another way.
We are going to save the freakin day. Nicholas Cage, Con Air Style (wipes face)
However, this rescue requires funding. The task is monumental. Each cat will require veterinary care and treatment. Each cat will need support. Time is of the essence. The extraction operation commences on Wednesday 24th April and we only have 5 days to make this mission impossible, possible.

The mission, should you choose to accept it (we did) is . . .
As mentioned, the person at the site has these cats in perfect health. This is not a BYB operation, but someone who genuinely cares for these cats and that is why he and the rescuer involved are talking to MKC. We will not exploit these cats. That scene from Independance day where the best president does that speech? Yeah, think that, but with British Shorthairs, and rescue. And awesome people instead of aliens.

Gerri is a gorgeous tabby/ginger colour and wants nothing more than to love and be loved.
Gerri is an absolute sweetheart and has always been desperate for a human of her own - she used to follow our volunteer feeders back to their cars and try to go home with them!
Gerri has an incredibly sweet temperament and is happiest when she’s getting lots of pats (she rolls around on the floor in utter delight!), loving on you with lots of headbutts and purrs, or having you play with her. She’s a chatty girl with a delightfully crispy little meow, and enjoys welcoming you home after work.
She’s a professional biscuit maker on fluffy surfaces and really gets into the zone once she starts!
While it might take her some time to feel comfortable and settle in, once she has bonded with you, you will have a companion for life. You become her world, and she will love you dearly.
Gerri is suited to quieter households (working from home would be a huge plus) and no young children. She doesn’t mind other cats, but wouldn’t be suited to dogs.
Gerri was rescued with her feline friends from a well look after colony that were sadly sold to property developers but thankfully with the help of the wonderful foster carers. We were managed to place Gerri and her friends in foster care.
Gerri is FIV positive but that just means she needs good quality food and annual vet check, which all kitties should have anyway. You can look up Cole and Marmalade, Cole is FIV and was happily living with Marmalade that is FIV negative.

💖Cali, Chewy, Jaffa & Toffee all get along well together, they are so beautifully bonded
💝They love to play wildly, especially chasings (around and around and around in circles…) and get protective of pom poms 😂
💞They all have a serious case of FOMO (fear of missing out) and all immediately dash off to see what one of their siblings has newly discovered
💖The girls have a love of, well really anything love shoes, ribbons, balls, cardboard boxes, kitty litter, paws in the water bowl, the moving fish or mouse app on screens, chasing flies, dangling hair, fluttering eyelashes, any paper on the ground, wagging dog tail, and lying on laptops when your trying to work
💝They love gentle dogs or to them they are just big weird looking cats and they will be curious about a resident cat if you have one
💞Cali & Jaffa will happily jump on your back if your bending over cleaning etc and Toffee & Jaffa will scale your body like no tomorrow
💖They just love all hoomans
💝All the girls have the most mesmerising purr and really adore cuddles late at night just before lights out
💕They all love being cuddled in the arms of humans and are happy to have their tummies stroked

Cornish Rex's for adoption together. Yes these are Rex cats. Yes they are up for adoption. Donna M called them Posh and Beckham. Would you believe they were dumped in the pound due to "housing" and after a long period in foster care, they are now ready for a home.
They are in Kempsey! Thier wonderful mother Donna is so glad that she rescued them when they were about to be put to sleep as the owner surrendered them.
I cant write this stuff, someone surrendered two Cornish Rex's to the Pound to be PTS.

I have Devon rex cats they are beautiful....urgh humans once again ...hope they find loving attentive owners as they love to snuggle and play...
These two will be snatched up because they are Cornish Rex’s whereas other bonded pairs are more likely to be split up if at all adopted. Good luck to them but always rescue the neediest.

Blinky Bill 🐨 is a gorgeous kitten with cute koala nose marking. He is playful and smoochy, and purrs instantly when patted.
Blinky Bill is a sweet and fun kitten. He loves to play with his siblings and foster carer. He loves his food so much so he has little rounded tummy, which is perfect to use as a winter hand warmer. 😆
He gets along very well with other kittens and older cats.
Once he is exhausted from playing, you will find him snuggling with his brother Mickey on the cat tree or on the sofa.
Blinky Bill would suit any home and he would love a cat friend so he can spend his days playing and snoozing with them.
Blinky Bill and his gorgeous calico mama Cali and 5 other siblings were rescued by a lovely lady at Western Sydney. Cali was heavily pregnant when she was rescued. The kittens were born indoors and are all healthy and domesticated.

Helen Crawford Our Solo Kittens/Two kitten rule. We only adopt young kittens in pairs unless you have another cat at home. Please let us know if this is an issue before you drive all the way over. We adopt juveniles and adults solo but not kittens . Please ask if this creates any issue before driving over. Kittens above 6 months we can adopt solo but young baby kittens we don’t. This is a very common policy in rescue groups.

Petite little Nala girl! Stawwwwwp this girl is so tiny and so sweet!
Nala is the sister of Chip. She doesn't show as much of the ticked coat like her brother but she is beautiful all the same. She adore playing with other cats and loves to zoom around fast when she's in an excited mood!
When Nala is all tuckered out at the end of the day, she will curl and cuddle up to you at night and per her little head off. The most perfect snuggle cat for the upcoming winter months ❄️

This is Simon and Alvin and YES their eyes are really that blue 😍
A common thing with cats that are white with blue eyes is that they are deaf! But these boys are not! We have done a million tests to check but it seems as if their hearing is all intact.
Simon and Alvin are cheeky playful and soooo purry. They can be adopted together or into a home with another friendly cat.

I wish I could take them both if I don't have so many already. I was having 4 white cats but I lost one ( from kidney disease) who's one has blue eyes as normal as others.
I remember seeing some like these when we visited a work friend of my Dad's who had a holiday place in Appin. I wanted to take one home but we already had two cats and Mum and Dad said no! they are so pretty. A friend later had one which sadly was deaf because it lead to his death when he was asleep under their car and was run over. Hope they get good homes.

Molly is a seriously awesome cat. She came into the MKC during the great kitten rush of Feb 24 and has been in foster with us since. She is 8 years old and as you can see, she is the biz. Persian, super awesome, face like a dropped pie and ready for a home.

Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know so the post can be updated - this is an exotic shorthair, not a Persian. Years ago the Persian was bred with the British Shorthair and the Exotic Shorthair was created. Occasionally breeders through a long haired exotic which goes back to the Persian origins but not the other way around so yeah, this lil squish is an Exotic. Salt is the definition of a little love bug. As soon as you come home he’ll be running over to the door to say hello. If you’re trying to put your things down, he’s there already there and would very much like it if you can pay attention to him now IMMMEDIATELY ploise.
As soon as you’re sitting down, he’ll strut over with a little swish of his tail and his sassy walk because he knows how fabulous he looks, and then he’ll have charmed his way onto your lap and will be asking for scratches before you know it.
If this little love isn't busy trying to steal all of your cuddles and butt scratch offerings, then he'll almost certainly be off exploring or busy chasing balls around the house.

Baby was abandoned in a colony, she was still a kitten and the baby of the group. Within the few weeks to gain her trust at the colony she was sporting a nice baby bump. 😢
Coming into house life to have her kittens in a nice warm loving safe environment she became very comfortable, chatty and smoochy with her foster feline sisters and human.
Baby has been an incredible mum to her 3 kittens, very protective and still feeding them at 10weeks!
This Baby mumma is a beautiful and gentle little soul that deserves her beautiful furever home with a life of nose kisses, head bops, pats and chats.

🫒 Olive still is a kitten at heart even more so now her babies have grown up and are also ready for adoption. She absolutely chasing toys especially if they are thrown down a hallway
🫒She has the most luxurious grey coat which she grooms with pride
🫒 Olive may take a little while to adjust to her surroundings, which is quite common in adult cats, but once settled she will your best buddy

I'm wondering if she is the mama of my rescue kitten Huxley. They both look so alike. I rescued Huxley from a car engine in Yagoona. He was around 7 weeks old, very skinny (600gms) and had fleas, ear mites and yes, ringworm. Now he is six months old and weighs 3.3kgs and is healthy as. We love him but would like to know his back story, if possible.
