Yes, the images are exactly what they look like. A huge rescue, a lot of moving parts. RSPCA and Vets. We got you Casper. Donate to help Casper here www.mkc.org.au/donate Sometimes a cat comes along that absolutely touches you with their strength. This is one of them. That look you can see on his face? Pain killers. Somehow he had managed to survive weeks on the street. He has no ear, it has been removed manually. (Vets can see the cuts). We are going to guess that someone tried to do backyard vet work. He is at our vets and in the best of care. We havent been able to tell the story for a few days as we had to stabilise him. The RSPCA have been involved since last weekend, as has the awesome Abbotsbury vet , Greencross Vets and the carers and nurses at MKC. We expected the worse, this tough nugget of a cat just refused to give up. He is blind in one eye He is missing an ear He is missing parts of the other ear God knows what else happened. He is eating He is drinking He is FIV neg and Anemic. He needs our help. So what now? Bloods have been taken and samples are off to pathology. It will be cancer, it will be bad, but we will give him the best life he could have in the best home until he cant. BUT by some sheer fluke it isnt, this baby gets his 9th life. In either case, Casper will never go hungry or thirsty and will always have company and care. Thank you to all the team, Donna, Kell, Emily, Kylee, Kath, Cindy, Anne, Nyree and Patricia. Kenji appeared to be the smallest out of the litter, but after a few weeks of nutritious food and lots of love, he has blossomed into healthy, happy kitten! Kenji is a striking little kitten with gorgeous eyeliner markings. He’s a laid-back charmer who loves to flop onto his back and invite tummy rubs. Kenji enjoys playing with dangling toys and little mouse toys. Despite being the smallest of the pair, his personality is huge! Kenji and his cutie pie brother Asahi are both social, well-adjusted, and tidy with their litter box. They are quiet through the night and well-mannered in the home. We are sorry that we do not have a cattery full of ‘breed’ cats 😞 What we do have is a cattery and carers full of the most beautiful, loving, sweet natured kittens that like any breed cat that also deserve 100’s of applications like the few ‘breed’ cats we’ve had. To be honest it is truly heartbreaking and the backlash we are receiving because people that applied for ‘breed’ cats are so annoyed that: a) no one got back to them quick enough b) they missed out, just a heads up so did 100 others c) telling us it’s a shame because they have the perfect house for such a ‘breed’ cat - you could imagine how much this one hurts If potential adopters looked beyond their own wants & needs we would be moving kittens like crazy. Imagine if all those applications came in for kittens like Grimace who fought so hard to survive FIP only to be not wanted or the dear classic tabby Eleanor who unfortunately wasn’t born looking like a breed or the apparently ordinary looking Pepsi & Max who have nothing but love to give or Lacy a simply yet beautiful tabby who against all odds as a dumped neo survived only to be ignored because again she isn’t a breed looking kitten. For us and the carers of these kittens it is just devastating when breed cats literally clog our inbox or online inquiry minutes from being advertised. Please, please we ask if you have the perfect home for a breed why isn’t it perfect for a non breed? If you tell us how much love you could shower on the specific ‘breed’ cat why can’t this love be showered on a non breed cat? All we ask is that people who are truly interested in adopting, even a breed cat, look beyond the superficial and just save the life of one of our spectacular non breed kittens lord knows they need it and so do we. **Reunited☺️** MISSING FOSTER CAT Rumble has somehow managed to escape her foster carers home. She was with her carer on First St, Kingswood. Rumble is one year old and has a shaved patch on her tummy from desexing. We have given our carer all the tools to encourage her to come back but she has only been with the carer for a few days.
